Walking down 和平 from the 古亭 MRT, you get into the 大安 (Dà'ān) district - notable for tree coverage and lots of foreigners. The latter part can somewhat be explained here... 和平 will take you right by 師大 (shī-dà) - National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), which is at least 15% international students - many of them English-speaking (more on this later). I definitely saw more white people here than anywhere else in Taiwan.
