East of that space, if you keep parallel with 忠孝, you'll run into 華山藝文特區 (Huà-shān-yì-wén-tè-qū) - the Hua Shan Cultural and Creative Industry Center, a congregation of half-completed brick buildings and loft-/warehouse-type spaces filled with modern art exhibits, musicians, and performance stages. Definitely one of the coolest places I visited while in Taiwan.
