 | Tuesday, June 24th, 2014: Pierce Sensational, 5-5 Dave Pierce exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Patriots Ballpark. The Arlington right fielder had a field day in the 10-7 triumph over the Corpus Christi Turbojets, finishing up with a 5-5 day and a spot in the league record book. "My hitting philosophy is pretty simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Well, Pierce must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat. D. Pierce singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off J. Unknown in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. In 52 games this year Pierce has posted a .324 average and put up these numbers: 2 home runs, 13 RBIs and 29 runs scored. |
