 | Sunday, June 22nd, 2014: Ankiel 5-5 Against Fort Wayne It was a parade of hits for Rick Ankiel of the Santa Ana Pterodactyls...one right after another...a total of 5 for the day. He ravaged the Fort Wayne Battle Cats for 5 hits in his 5 at-bats and propelled the Pterodactyls to a 12-5 victory. "Ankiel was really good and we were really bad," groaned the Battle Cats manager. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him." R. Ankiel singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 7th. This year Ankiel has hit at a .274 clip with 40 hits, 2 home runs, 18 RBIs and 26 runs scored. |
