 | Wednesday, June 25th, 2014: Carriles Torches Valiants for 5 Hits During a player's career, there are days that stand out, and this day was definitely special! Guillermo Carriles went 5 for 5 against the Corpus Christi Valiants at Blizzards Ballpark and the Blizzards picked up a 10-3 victory. He exclaimed, "What a day! We win and I get 5 hits! Couldn't be better!" The delighted right fielder was really enjoying the happiness of the moment in the press room. "He was patient up there today," the Huntington Beach skipper told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly agressive. Carriles has a tendency to go after some bad balls sometimes." G. Carriles hit a two-run home run off P. Ramsey in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off J. Ingram in the 8th. During the current season Carriles is batting at a .304 clip with 5 home runs and 47 RBIs. He has played in 73 games and scored 47 times. |
