With the start of the preseason today, the baseball drought has ended, and clubs are making their way to training facilities across The United States. There is much to do and little time before the regular season commences. Teams have to work through spring training, while general managers have roster moves to consider, young players to assess, and decisions to make about lineups and the rotation. The baseball juggernaut is starting to roll forward!

 | Saturday, January 7th, 2017: Sun Devils Lange Injured in Off-Field Incident
The Lincoln Sun Devils have lost reliever Michael Lange for 1-2 weeks after he suffered a strained back muscle when he slipped on a wet floor.
Taking the hill 28 times in his career, Lange has compiled an ERA of 3.40 with no saves. He has tossed 156 innings with 97 strikeouts and 57 free passes. Opponents have hit .230 against him. His won-lost record stands at 8-5.

| Friday, October 28th, 2016: It's Official; Luxemburg Fires Pittman as Manager
SION reports that the Luxemburg Hatchetfish fired manager Jack Pittman today.
At the press conference, the Luxemburg general manager said, "Letting somebody go is never a happy experience, but in this business, you have to do it, when you see your club is not headed in the right direction. If hard work and dedication were all it took to build a winning team, Pittman would have done it. But it takes more than that. I think the world of him personally, but it was time for a change."
Club sources were not sure who the new skipper might be and would not speculate as to the successor.
