For his outstanding efforts he collected the league's Outstanding Hitter Award for 2016.
The Scottsdale Flash first baseman slammed opposing pitchers for 173 hits, 9 home runs and 83 RBIs while scoring 84 times.
For being named the SL2's best hitter, Gusmán will be honored at the SION Baseball Writers awards banquet this weekend. | | Wednesday, September 21st, 2016: Super Season, Clement Wins Outstanding Hitter Award 2016 was a very good year for Anchorage Misfits catcher Billy Clement, this season's Sub League 1 Outstanding Hitter Award recipient.
Clement had an outstanding year, hitting .359 with a .459 on-base percentage. He totaled 141 hits, 40 doubles, 1 triple, 9 home runs, 73 RBIs and scored 83 runs.
This weekend the SBWA will host its annual awards dinner and all of the major winners will be there to receive their trophies for their outstanding achievements this past season. | |
