MLB Triple A 12-31-2019 Home | | Breaking News | | Monday, September 30th, 2019: António Palomón Captures SL2 Outstanding Hitter Award António Palomón of the Washington Nationals had a season to remember this year. Today was named the SL2's Outstanding Hitter Award for 2019.
The 23-year-old first baseman put up a .319 average and .403 on-base percentage, piling up 158 hits, 37 doubles, 6 triples, 33 home runs, 123 RBIs and 107 runs scored.
For being named the SL2's best batter Palomón will be honored this weekend at the annual SION Baseball Writers awards banquet. | | Monday, September 30th, 2019: Medina Heads Best Batter List Pretty much all season long Manuel Medina was "locked in the zone" -- that place every batter wants to go. The Clobberers first baseman managed to stay there long enough this season to earn the Sub League 1 Outstanding Hitter Award for 2019.
He assaulted SL1 pitchers for a .305 batting average, 146 hits, 32 home runs and 112 RBIs while scoring 102 times.
This weekend the SBWA will host its annual awards dinner and all of the major winners will be there to receive their trophies for their outstanding achievements this past season. | | Sunday, September 29th, 2019: SL2 Announces Outstanding Pitcher Award The Outstanding Pitcher Award for 2019 has been announced and the Sub League 2 winner is John Beall of San Bernardino. For his superb season, he has been named the league's top-rated pitcher.
This year Beall stood out with a 13-7 won-lost record in 25 starts. In 161 innings he yielded 159 hits and 37 walks, while striking out 79 and compiling an impressive 2.91 ERA.
