| Breaking News |  | Thursday, September 19th, 2019: Preston Bower Named Premier SL2 Batsman
It was a season to remember for Preston Bower -- and one for opposing pitchers to forget. The right fielder for Minster has claimed the 2019 Outstanding Hitter Award after tearing up the league with a .406 batting average.
Bower rang up 179 hits, 22 doubles, 3 triples, 7 home runs, 85 RBIs and 78 runs scored. He also posted a .455 on-base percentage in his award-winning season.
The annual SBWA awards dinner is this weekend. All of the major award winners will be there to receive their trophies for their outstanding achievements this past season.

 | Thursday, September 19th, 2019: Saint Petersburg's Kelley Wins SL1 Outstanding Hitter Award
There was nobody hotter in the Sub League 1 this season as Sam Kelley attacked enemy pitching with a vengeance and came away with the Outstanding Hitter Award for 2019.
The 18-year-old first baseman hit .362 collecting 175 hits, 29 doubles, 3 triples, 4 home runs and 77 RBIs. He also scored 112 runs and posted a .438 on-base percentage.
For being named the SL1's #1 batter Kelley will be honored at the SION Baseball Writers awards banquet this weekend.

 | Wednesday, September 18th, 2019: SL2's Best Pitcher is Bowman
Denny Bowman was the most outstanding pitcher in the Sub League 2 this year and today was acclaimed the Outstanding Pitcher Award winner for his efforts.
Bowman had a marvelous season, going 13-0 with an impressive 2.31 ERA in 27 starts. He struck out 106 in 167.1 innings and limited opposing batters to a .241 batting average.
Bowman will be honored this weekend at the SION Baseball Writers Association annual awards banquet.
