| Wednesday, July 17th, 2019: 2019 Top Batter Selected His teammates, fans, peers and even the voters all agreed that Frank Larrabee was worthy of the 2019 Sub League 2 Outstanding Hitter Award.
The Allegany shortstop was a bonafide batting machine as he racked up a .392 average, 96 hits, 20 doubles, 2 triples, 1 home run, 19 RBIs, 54 runs, 31 walks and a .465 OBP.
The annual SBWA awards dinner is this weekend. All of the major award winners will be there to receive their trophies for their outstanding achievements this past season. | | Wednesday, July 17th, 2019: Yukichi Noda Named Premier SL1 Batsman Today Montgomery's Yukichi Noda was named the Sub League 1 Outstanding Hitter Award winner for 2019. He punished SL1 hurlers hard all season long, collecting 85 hits in 240 at-bats.
With a .354 batting average, 18 doubles, no triples, 7 home runs, 44 RBIs and 39 runs scored, he was the top votegetter.
This weekend the SION Baseball Writers Association will present the trophy to Noda for being the SL1's top-rated batter. He will receive it at the group's annual awards dinner. | | Tuesday, July 16th, 2019: Elbridge Ace Cops SL2 Outstanding Pitcher Award He was the top pitcher this season, according to the SION voters. Orlando González of the Elbridge Aliens outdid his pitching peers this year and has been honored with the 2019 Sub League 2 Outstanding Pitcher Award.
During his remarkable year González posted a 9-1 record in 13 starts. In 94 innings he yielded 98 hits and 34 walks while striking out 32 and compiling a fine 3.64 ERA.
For his fine season the SION Baseball Writers Association will present him his trophy this weekend at its annual awards dinner. | |
