What a day for Raúl Granados of the Traer Lava! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen everyday! He ripped Rosebud pitching apart at Lava Ballpark and sparked the Lava to a 12-10 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing up his special day 5-7.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Granados told SION reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that."
R. Granados singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th, singled in the 8th, flied out in the 9th and hit a two-run home run off S. Chong in the 11th.

It was a sensational day at the plate for Greg Pearson, but a letdown as well as the Mudcats dropped the game 12-8 to the Bullies.
Nonetheless the Whisper Walk left fielder was pure misery for the Wabasha pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win. That's the important thing," Pearson said.
The manager for the Bullies told SION reporters after the game, "Pearson put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw him some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
G. Pearson singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off J. Johnson in the 8th and walked in the 9th.
