Friday, August 1st, 2025: Castillo Bashes 5 Base Hits
It was a big day with the bat for Roberto Castillo of the Greensboro Skychiefs at Ballpark of Greensboro as he bashed out hit after hit after hit to defeat Modesto 16-13.

To the press after the ballgame he modestly said, "Guys, it's just one game in a long season. I hit it hard and found some holes today -- Bingo! -- 5 hits in 6 tries! But my hits are not the big thing in the game. The victory is the important thing. That's the story."

At the end of the game Castillo had collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats and a small mention in the record book. He was happy. He had a big day with the bat. And the Skychiefs had won.

The beat writers were happy, too. They had their big story -- they could write about his big day with the bat.

R. Castillo singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

Monday, June 30th, 2025: Week's Premier Player - Greensboro's Shibisha
Axamuk Shibisha of the Greensboro Skychiefs put the wraps on a fantastic week of play by being named the Sub League 1 Player of the Week.

The hot-hitting center fielder was a bonafide batting machine as he racked up 14 hits in 24 at-bats, 3 home runs, .583 BA, 14 RBIs, 8 runs, 8 walks and a .688 OBP.

A look at his season totals shows Shibisha with 9 home runs, .321 BA, .447 OBP, 60 RBIs and 59 runs scored.

Tuesday, June 17th, 2025: Turner Rips Toledo for 5 Hits
At Ballpark of Greensboro Donald Turner of the Greensboro Skychiefs put on a hitting clinic today against Toledo. He banged out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and mauled Mountain Ducks pitching, but came up short in the win department.

In spite of his standout 5-hit performance, the Mountain Ducks captured the game by the score of 12-10.

"Hey, it's great to get that many hits in a game, but it would have been nice to win the game, too," were his words in the postgame interview.

D. Turner singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and singled in the 11th.

So far this year Turner is hitting .300 with no home runs.
