| Breaking News |  | Monday, August 4th, 2025: Hot Bat Wins SL1 Player of the Week Honors
Saint Petersburg Warthogs left fielder Will Gray, at the top of his game all last week, was a consensus choice today for Sub League 1 Player of the Week.
He victimized opposing pitchers for a .483 batting average on 14 hits in 29 at-bats, piling up 6 home runs, 9 RBIs and 9 runs scored.
In 2025 Gray has produced 123 hits in 383 at-bats for a .321 average with 22 home runs and gotten on base at a .413 clip.

 | Sunday, July 20th, 2025: Cortéz Magnificent in Saint Petersburg Win
Miguel Cortéz of the Corpus Christi Valiants shut down the Saint Petersburg Warthogs 6-0 on an excellent 6-hitter, holding them scoreless while ringing up 4 strikeouts and allowing 2 walks.
After the game Cortéz said, "Guys have been fouling off a lot of pitches lately and I've been getting into too many deep pitch counts, but I'm pleased with the way things went today. I went right after them and stayed ahead in the count."
Over the season Cortéz has thrown 122.1 innings and dished out 57 strikeouts with a 7-5 mark and a 4.49 ERA.

 | Monday, June 30th, 2025: Bailey Spins Shutout Against Battle Cats
Saint Petersburg hurler Albert Bailey put on quite a show today as he blitzed the Fort Wayne Battle Cats with a 12-0 shutout. He baffled them with fastballs and changeups, allowing 4 hits with 5 strikeouts and 1 walk to pick up the win.
The opposing manager told reporters after the game, "I think every time we were looking for a fastball, he threw a changeup and every time we were looking for a changeup, he threw a fastball."
In 7 starts this season Bailey has chalked up a 2-2 record and a 3.78 ERA.
