The Outstanding Pitcher Award for 2025 has been given out and the Sub League 1 winner is Ramón Vázquez of Saint Louis Park.
For his extraordinary season, he has been named the league's premier pitcher.
During the year, the Invaders ace stood out with a 7-1 won-lost mark in 11 starts. In 75.1 innings he yielded 67 hits and 23 walks, while striking out 65 and compiling a fine 2.51 ERA.
The SBWA will honor all of the award winners this weekend at its annual meeting.

This week's Player of the Week was Jorge Cruz of the Saint Louis Park Invaders.
His big bat waylaid Sub League 1 pitching for 16 hits in 35 at-bats, 1 home run, and 12 RBIs while hitting .457 and scoring 5 runs.
This year Cruz is batting .356 with 4 home runs. He has scored 39 runs and driven in 36.

| Saturday, May 17th, 2025: Castro Bangs Out 5 Base Hits
It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Luis Castro. It was very special day, one that many players never experience. But he did. Castro went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Ashville pitching.
When the dust settled on the diamond at Ballpark of Saint Louis Park, he had a career 5-5 day and something he will long remember. And the Saint Louis Park Invaders had a 15-9 victory over the Windsurfers.
"Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he laughed in the SION postgame interview.
L. Castro doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off R. Reece in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off N. Hicks in the 7th and walked in the 8th.
So far this season Castro is batting .273 with 5 home runs, 27 RBIs and 27 runs scored. He has 39 hits in 143 at-bats, 21 walks and a .371 OBP. Castro has played in 37 games.
