| Breaking News | | Wednesday, June 4th, 2025: Hits Galore! Gonzáles Drills 5 Hits! It was an almost perfect day. Bentonville second baseman Jesús Gonzáles displayed a hot bat today, enjoying an outstanding 5-hit day. But something was missing -- the Colonels failed to win -- they lost to the Carrollton Sea Devils 8-2
"Some days, lady luck is on your side, some days it's not," he modestly told SION reporters after the game. His manager told the beat writers otherwise, "His hitting wasn't luck today. It's his solid approach to hitting. Jesús is focused, patient and he hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have, and vice versa."
The 20-year-old second baseman for the Colonels collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats to get his name in the record book.
J. Gonzáles hit an RBI single in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
Thus far in 2025 Gonzáles is hitting .367 with 2 home runs, 32 RBIs, 30 runs scored and has compiled a .463 OBP. | | Sunday, June 1st, 2025: Carrollton Starter Named SL1's Best Pitcher Sergio Hernández had an outstanding May -- so good that the Sub League 1 presented him with the Pitcher of the Month Award earlier today.
"There's no way to know where the Sea Devils would be without Hernández," one fan is quoted as saying.
In May Hernández dominated the competition, running up a 4-0 record, a 0.94 ERA and 10 strikeouts in 28.2 innings.
This season Hernández has gone 4-0 with an ERA of 2.12, posting 12 strikeouts in 29.2 innings. | | Thursday, May 22nd, 2025: Brooks Belts Bunch of Base Hits On top of the Seminole hit parade today was Corey Brooks. He went to the plate 6 times and marched away with 5 hits, sparking the Hailstorm to a 16-1 victory over the Carrollton Sea Devils. He certainly had their number at the plate in this record-making 5-6 performance.
The sweet swinging right fielder told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."
The skipper of the Sea Devils wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."
C. Brooks singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 7th.
Brooks is swinging at a .221 pace on the year with 1 home run, 18 RBIs and 22 runs scored. He has played in 42 games. | | | Pitching Staff | | Role | Throws | Pitcher | W | L | SV | ERA | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 37-25, .597 PCT | | Position in Division | 1st, - GB | | Record at home | 17-14, .548 PCT | | Record on the road | 20-11, .645 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 3-0, 1.000 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 9-5, .643 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 11-6, .647 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 26-19, .578 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 7-3, .700 PCT | | Record in April | 14-14, .500 PCT | | Record in May | 18-8, .692 PCT | | Record in June | 5-3, .625 PCT |
