| Breaking News |  | Sunday, July 20th, 2025: SL2 Names Outstanding Hitter Award Winner
Mikaël Piché went on a year-long hitting rampage against Sub League 2 pitchers and collected the Outstanding Hitter Award for 2025.
The Harrisville right fielder battered the opposition for 77 hits, 16 doubles, 2 triples, 6 home runs and 43 RBIs while scoring 39 runs. He hit .362 and posted a .399 on-base percentage.
This weekend Piché will be honored by the SION Baseball Writers Association at its annual awards dinner.

 | Sunday, July 20th, 2025: Trent Selected SL1's Top Batter
2025's Outstanding Hitter Award has been chosen by the Sub League 1. This season's trophy was awarded to Walter Trent, the gifted Shoreacres first baseman.
In 53 games he terrorized SL1 hurlers, finishing up the year with a .370 batting average, 80 hits, 6 home runs, 52 RBIs, .460 OBP and 47 runs scored.
This weekend Trent will be honored by the SION Baseball Writers Association at its annual awards dinner.

 | Saturday, July 19th, 2025: Outstanding Pitcher Award Goes to Jones
This season Edwin Jones of Herkimer was the #1 pitcher according to SION sportswriters and analysts.
His fine 9-1 won-lost mark and 2.80 had a big influence in the voting and the Herkimer hurler was named the 2025 Sub League 2 Outstanding Pitcher Award winner.
In 96.1 innings of work and 15 starts, the Cobras star struck out 79 while giving up 85 hits and 22 walks. He held opposing batters to a .227 average.
