| Breaking News | | Monday, May 19th, 2025: 5-Hit Barrage by Sizemore It was a big day with the bat for Don Sizemore of the Trenton Graylings at Ballpark of Trenton as he bashed out hit after hit after hit to defeat Pacifica 11-4.
To the press after the ballgame he modestly said, "Guys, it's just one game in a long season. I hit it hard and found some holes today -- Bingo! -- 5 hits in 6 tries! But my hits are not the big thing in the game. The victory is the important thing. That's the story."
At the end of the game Sizemore had collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats and a small mention in the record book. He was happy. He had a big day with the bat. And the Graylings had won.
The beat writers were happy, too. They had their big story -- they could write about his big day with the bat.
D. Sizemore singled in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This season in 37 games, Sizemore has hit at a .372 clip with 61 hits, 1 home run, 12 RBIs and 38 runs scored. | | Wednesday, April 16th, 2025: Hits Galore! Stanley Drills 5 Hits! It was a parade of hits for Jeff Stanley of the Highland Village Expos...one right after another...a total of 5 for the day. He ravaged the Pacifica Veterans for 5 hits in his 5 at-bats and propelled the Expos to a 8-7 victory.
"Stanley was really good and we were really bad," groaned the Veterans manager. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him."
J. Stanley singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off J. Petersen in the 9th.
Currently Stanley has 1 home run and a .333 batting average. | | Thursday, May 9th, 2024: Career Over for Craig, Major Injury The Pacifica Veterans were jolted by some terrible news -- Scott Craig's baseball career was pronounced over -- the result of a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament.
The club's GM told SION reporters, "We were all stunned by the news. Injuries are a part of the game, but you never get used to this kind of devastating news."
In 2024 Craig has compiled a 1-1 record with a 2.90 ERA in 6 starts. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 27-27, .500 PCT | | Position in Division | 3rd, 4.0 GB | | Record at home | 10-17, .370 PCT | | Record on the road | 17-10, .630 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 1-2, .333 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 6-12, .333 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 6-8, .429 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 21-19, .525 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 5-5, .500 PCT | | Record in April | 14-13, .519 PCT | | Record in May | 13-14, .481 PCT |
