It was a hits blitz for Martin Branch at Reindeers Ballpark. The Lake Heritage Reindeers second baseman tore into Toledo for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace Reindeers to a 9-7 victory and wrote his name into the baseball record book.
The manager for the City Hawks bemoaned his pitching, saying, "We fell behind and weren't locating well. Once you get behind in the count, you have to make real good pitches, rather than good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today." He added, "Not to take anything away from Branch, but bad location was the story of the ballgame. That's why we lost the game."
M. Branch singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
In the current season, Branch has put up a .349 batting average with 76 hits, 3 home runs, 23 RBIs and scored 32 times.

The Lake Heritage Reindeers were jolted by some terrible news -- Tanner Rutledge's baseball career was pronounced over -- the result of a torn back muscle.
The club's GM told SION reporters, "We were all stunned by the news. Injuries are a part of the game, but you never get used to this kind of devastating news."
Rutledge has 2 saves this season with a won-lost record of 2-0 and 5.00 ERA.

| Friday, May 30th, 2025: Branch Slams 5 Hits for Lake Heritage
Lake Heritage second baseman Martin Branch really lit up the Fort Washington Aggressors with a 5-hit barrage today at Reindeers Ballpark -- a performance that sparked the Reindeers to a 13-3 triumph.
He shrugged off the performance after the game and said, "Sometimes the ball finds outfielders, today the ball found some holes."
M. Branch singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off A. López in the 7th.
This season Branch is hitting .352 with 3 home runs.
