Marino said in the clubhouse afterward, "I just had a feeling it was going to be my day. My control was awesome. I could throw my curveball even when I was behind in the count."
The Chicago starter held Minnesota scoreless, giving up 3 hits while registering 15 strikeouts and issuing 2 walks.
"We didn't have very many good at-bats," the Twins manager said in his postgame interview.
"When that happens, you usually lose."

Today at U.S. Cellular Field the Chicago right fielder really burned Minnesota pitching, going 5-for-5 in the White Sox 9-1 triumph.
"When he's seeing the ball well," his skipper told reporters, "he can probably stroke a base hit blindfolded."
