| Breaking News |  | Sunday, June 15th, 2025: Hernández Hurls Masterpiece In a knockout performance, Alfredo Hernández beat the Golden Bears 9-0 with an impressive 6-hit shutout.
The Saturns hurler finished with 1 strikeout and 2 walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.
Hernández told reporters after the game, "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working ...it don't get any better than this."
The Golden Bears manager said, "It was a rough one for my guys. We weren't at our best...and their guy was."
This year Hernández has fanned 14 in 49 innings and collected a 3-3 record with a 4.78 ERA. |  | Sunday, June 8th, 2025: Woods Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits "It was like I was hitting little league pitching," said Eddy Woods after his 5-hit performance against the Golden Bears. "No offense meant to Jamestown, but I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid league park, it was Showstoppers Stadium!"
The East Hampton right fielder had a fantastic day at the plate, knocking out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and pacing his club to a 11-6 victory.
His manager elaborated after the game to the press, saying, "Eddy worked the entire offseason on trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball and the hard work is paying off in base hits."
"That's what I'm trying to do," Woods said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."
E. Woods grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
This season Woods is hitting .330 with 65 hits, 3 home runs, 33 RBIs, scored 34 runs and played in 48 games. |  | Monday, May 19th, 2025: González Cruises to Shutout The Minster Kingfishers were almost helpless today in their 5-0 loss to Jamestown hurler Martín González. He kept them confused the entire ballgame and spun a 2-hit shutout.
The Minster manager said in the postgame interview, "Tip your hat to González. He kept us off balance all night."
González said, "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play. It was just one of those games that things went my way."
He had no walks and 6 strikeouts in a strong performance.
Season-to-date González has rung up 3 wins and 2 losses in 9 appearances.
