There's an excitement around Tampa Bay today because it appears the team has finally reached an agreement with a key free agent acquisition. An afternoon press conference has been called where the Rays are likely to announce the signing of catcher Ricardo Castros to a 5-year, $144,450,000 contract.
During his career Castros has hit .309 with 927 hits, 80 home runs, 474 RBIs and scored 493 runs. |
| Tuesday, December 23rd, 2025: LF Hill Agrees to Terms with Tampa Bay Rays
The Rays pulled out all the stops today to announce the signing of left fielder Todd Hill. The 31-year-old is one of the game's preeminent playmakers, and has definitely proven why he was such an attractive signing.
The contract is a 2-year deal worth $22,620,000.
Hill has played in 977 games with a .298 career batting average and 1179 hits. He also has scored 668 runs and driven in 572 runs with 143 home runs. |
| Monday, September 29th, 2025: Kimura Sidelined, Listed DTD by Tampa Bay
Kawanari Kimura, Rays standout starting pitcher, will be sidelined for a while due to a tender elbow. He was injured while throwing a pitch in yesterday's game against the Blue Jays. Kimura called it "a day-to-day thing" and said he hoped to be back in action soon.
This year in 22 starts, Kimura has recorded 11 wins and absorbed 4 losses. He has pitched 117.1 innings, allowed 100 hits, struck out 101 and has a 3.53 ERA.
