Fans across Washington were hopeful as word of the Nationals making a play for one of baseball's biggest names took root, causing management to issue a statement that no such deal had been reached, nor was one in the works.
That said, our sources tell us that a $10,150,000-per-year arrangement is "very likely" and that Todd Hill could be wearing a Nationals uniform by week's end.

Washington fans celebrated as word of a signing became reality. Jorge Ledezma won't be pulling up stakes anytime soon, as he has signed a 4-year extension at a pay rate of $16,437,500 per annum.
Since he is widely seen as an integral part of the club, Washington officials had to keep Ledezma from jumping ship.
For his career Ledezma has hit at a .269 clip. Among his lifetime numbers are 1033 hits, 285 doubles, 26 triples, 177 home runs and 650 RBIs. |
