| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, August 20th, 2025: Hooper on Fire, 5-5 Against Arlington George Hooper was on quite a roll today as he knocked the ball all over the park, collecting 5 hits and leading the Silversides to a 9-7 victory over the Arlington Patriots.
After the first three hits, all eyes in the ballpark were drawn to him each time he stepped into the batter's box. Even a few of the opposing fans were pulling for him, knowing they were watching a little baseball-hitting history unfold.
In the clubhouse, crowded by reporters, the Buffalo third baseman said, "I never realized that batting a little ball around could cause so much commotion." When asked what the secret of hitting so well is, he smiled and replied, "The key to hitting for a high average is to relax, concentrate and hit the ball where they ain't."
Nobody was at home today as Hooper finished the day with 5 hits in 5 at-bats and a line in the record book.
G. Hooper hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.

He has scored 8 runs and driven in 7. |  | Saturday, August 16th, 2025: Patriots Sozen Kimura Injured: Day-to-Day Patriots reliever Sozen Kimura was injured while throwing a pitch yesterday against the Corpus Christi Turbojets. It was diagnosed as a back spasms. He is not expected to miss too much action and will be listed as day-to-day. Team doctors said it could be as long as 1-2 weeks before Arlington standout player returns to the lineup.
This season Kimura has chalked up a 4.24 ERA while ringing up no saves with 9 wins and 6 losses. He has made 25 relief appearances, pitching 116.2 innings, giving up 109 hits and holding opponents to a .245 batting average. Kimura has also recorded 73 strikeouts and allowed 63 walks. |  | Friday, July 25th, 2025: Nakao 6-7 Against Scottsdale It was a sensational day at the plate for Hidetsugu Nakao as he led the charge to a 17-4 win over the Flash.
The Arlington left fielder was pure misery for the Scottsdale pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 6 hits in 7 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
The manager for the Flash told SION reporters after the game, "Nakao put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
H. Nakao singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
