"Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Mi-Wuk Village first baseman after the game. "All I had to do was swing, and I connected. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-5 won't hurt your batting average like 0-5 will."
O. Pérez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Thus far this year Pérez is hitting .323 with 3 home runs, 19 RBIs and 27 runs scored. | | Wednesday, June 19th, 2024: How Sweep it Is! Great Barrington Wins Round 3 The Missionaries earned their 2nd Round 3 title and now get to spend all winter basking in glory, while the beaten Steelhawks will have many sleepless nights wondering what went wrong.
Great Barrington is the MLB Short Season A Champions for 2024. They did it with a 13-4 triumph to capture the series 4-0.
"Both clubs are talented. We just made fewer mistakes than they did," the winning manager said to the press corps at the postgame press conference. "We made the crucial plays and got the timely hits."
The Mi-Wuk Village skipper agreed with that assessment and added, "We were a little weak on fundamentals at crucial times. I have a sneaky suspicion we will be working on fundamentals a lot next spring."
On the way to the Round 3 championship, the Missionaries ended up in first place in the Sub League 2 Division 1 and compiled a 36-18 record during the regular season. | | Monday, June 3rd, 2024: 6-Hits Blitz by Mi-Wuk Village's Rosales!
