Sunday, July 27th, 2025: Roldán Belts 5 Hits!
5 hits in a game has always been a magic number in baseball. Only a handful of players will do that. Get 5 hits in a game and you get your moment of glory...your 5 minutes of fame...you get your name in the record book.

In the Dragoons 8-5 win over Waconia, José Roldán was red-hot today, scorching them for hit after hit at Chesapeake Grounds.

"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax. I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I must admit, I got too much adrenaline going when I realized that this was a special once-in-a-lifetime chance for the record book. On the last hit, I was ready to swing at anything close, I was that excited. That's why my third base coach called time and told me, 'Calm down and wait for a good pitch.' That got me back on track and I nailed the first one in the strike zone."

On his record-setting day Roldán delivered 5 hits in 6 at-bats, a day he will not soon forget.

J. Roldán flied out in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, hit an RBI single in the 9th and hit a three-run home run off N. Etheridge in the 10th.

Looking at his stats this year, Roldán has compiled a .313 batting average, while hitting 3 home runs and driving in 32 runs. He has played in 66 games and scored 29 runs.

Monday, July 21st, 2025: Red-Hot Lucas SL1 Player of the Week
It was a week to remember for Gerald Lucas. After wrapping up a torrid week at the plate, the Waconia Vikings right fielder was named the Sub League 1 Player of the Week.

Lucas collected 9 hits in 24 at-bats for a .375 average. He also accounted for 6 RBIs, 3 home runs and scored 6 runs.

This year Lucas has 7 home runs and a .275 batting average.

Tuesday, June 24th, 2025: Big Day for West! Swats 5 Hits!
It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Willis West. It was very special day, one that many players never experience. But he did. West went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Waconia pitching.

When the dust settled on the diamond at Crabbers Ballpark, he had a career 5-5 day and something he will long remember. And the Morris Crabbers had a 13-2 victory over the Vikings.

"Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he laughed in the SION postgame interview.

W. West hit an RBI double in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off N. Larson in the 8th.

This season West is hitting .308 with 1 home run.
