It appears to be only a rumor, but earlier today, fans around Anchorage were buzzing with the news that their 32-year old catcher José Martínez had been asking for a trade. "I couldn't imagine him saying bad things about Anchorage or wanting to leave." said one person.

 | Sunday, July 13th, 2025: 5 Hits for Fur Traders Jones
Mike Jones of the Fur Traders was unstoppable in today's 8-4 victory over the Anchorage Misfits at Fur Traders Ballpark. He battered them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats.
"Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Glendale center fielder after the game. "All I had to do was swing, and I connected. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-5 won't hurt your batting average like 0-5 will."
M. Jones hit an RBI triple in the 1st, tripled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
So far this year Jones has hit .253 with 10 home runs, 53 RBIs and scored 41 runs.
