| Breaking News |  | Monday, May 26th, 2025: Week's Best Player Honored by SL2 Stockton Pride fans are celebrating José Vásquez's selection as Sub League 2 Player of the Week.
Vásquez put up some serious numbers over the past seven days as he cracked 15 hits in 31 at-bats. The 18-year-old left fielder hit .484, drove in 10 runs, scored 7 times and hit 1 home run.
This season Vásquez is batting .386 with 10 home runs. He has scored 31 runs and driven in 51. |  | Thursday, May 22nd, 2025: Vásquez Torches Salamanders for 5 Hits José Vásquez had an answer for everything the Tacoma Salamanders threw him today in the Stockton 12-3 triumph at Ballpark of Stockton. He made good contact 5 times and 5 times he drilled the ball for a base hit.
The Stockton left fielder went 5 for 5 in the game to put his name in the record book.
Summing up his batting philosophy to SION writers after the game, Vásquez said, "I just see the ball and I hit it."
J. Vásquez hit an RBI single in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
Vásquez on the season is batting .387 with 9 home runs. His totals include 48 RBIs and 28 runs scored. He has played in 38 games. |  | Sunday, May 4th, 2025: Pride García Smacks 5 Hits! The Pride were defeated 16-8 today at Ballpark of Stockton by the Sea Hawks, but you can't say César García didn't give it his best try. The Pride shortstop came to the plate 5 times and collected 5 hits. It was a good day for García and a tough day for Stockton.
"I just go up there and swing away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan."
No plan or not, García delivered today...5-5 is outstanding in any league.
