| Breaking News | | Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025: Mays Torches Volts for 5 Hits It was a big day with the bat for Walter Mays of the Branchville Rhinoceroses at Ballpark of Branchville as he bashed out hit after hit after hit to defeat Glendale 10-3.
To the press after the ballgame he modestly said, "Guys, it's just one game in a long season. I hit it hard and found some holes today -- Bingo! -- 5 hits in 5 tries! But my hits are not the big thing in the game. The victory is the important thing. That's the story."
At the end of the game Mays had collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats and a small mention in the record book. He was happy. He had a big day with the bat. And the Rhinoceroses had won.
The beat writers were happy, too. They had their big story -- they could write about his big day with the bat.
W. Mays hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off J. Dalton in the 8th.
This season-to-date Mays has 6 home runs and a .276 batting average. | | Wednesday, June 11th, 2025: Lubbock's Chávez Shines, Shuts Out Branchville A masterful pitching performance carried the Lubbock Racers to a 6-0 victory over Branchville. "I'm feeling good overall," he said.
"I'm executing my pitches, I'm able to hit my spots and I'm getting outs in key situations."
Kimura shut down the Branchville Rhinoceroses, blanking them on 3 hits while registering 7 strikeouts and no walks.
