Breaking News | | Friday, September 19th, 2025: Sanders Takes SL2 Outstanding Pitcher Award Danny Sanders is the latest Sub League 2 Outstanding Pitcher Award winner. The Lubbock starter really shined on the hill time and again and finished up 2025 with a sparkling 13-3 record.
In 24 starts, he fanned 96, walked 37 in 161 innings and posted a 2.85 ERA. Sanders held opposing hitters to a .248 batting average, when he was on the mound.
All of the award-winning players will be honored this weekend at the SBWA annual awards dinner. | | Saturday, July 5th, 2025: Racers Lose Ken Yates The Lubbock Racers will lose the services of reliever Ken Yates after he sustained a tender shoulder while throwing a pitch in today's game against the San Bernardino Repulse. When asked about the injury, he took a philosophical approach. "Worse things can happen in life," Yates said. "The key now is to stay positive." His trainer said he is expected to be sidelined for the next 1-2 weeks.
To this point in the season, Yates has put up these figures: 2-3 record, 31 relief appearances with 58 innings, no saves, 30 strikeouts, 48 walks and a 7.29 ERA. He has limited other teams to a .300 batting average. | | Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025: Lamb Sensational, 5-5 Dustin Lamb told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard."
Well, that's just what Lamb of the Lubbock Racers did against the Baton Rouge Dazzle. He went to the plate 5 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, But his club still suffered a 5-4 defeat.
"Not much I can say," offered Lamb in the SION postgame press conference. "I got a bunch of hits, but it would have been much better to get a win. Can I trade 5 hits for the win?"
D. Lamb singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Lamb on the season is hitting .243 with 5 home runs.
