| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025: Lawrence Bashes 5 Base Hits Deron Lawrence had an answer for everything the Wedgefield Diamondhawks threw him today in the Cobb 4-3 triumph at Kangaroos Ballpark. He made good contact 5 times and 5 times he drilled the ball for a base hit.
The Cobb catcher went 5 for 6 in the game to put his name in the record book.
Summing up his batting philosophy to SION writers after the game, Lawrence said, "I just see the ball and I hit it."
D. Lawrence singled in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th, doubled in the 12th and hit a solo-shot off J. Cruz in the 14th.

It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Chris Bonnell. It was very special day, one that many players never experience. But he did. Bonnell went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Cobb pitching.
When the dust settled on the diamond at Advancers Ballpark, he had a career 5-5 day and something he will long remember. And the Ladoga Advancers had a 15-10 victory over the Kangaroos.
"Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he laughed in the SION postgame interview.
C. Bonnell doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off F. López in the 8th.
Bonnell is presently hitting at a .375 pace with 3 home runs and 35 RBIs. The Deposit catcher said to SION reporters in the postgame interview, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of very pretty pitches to hit today, and I didn't miss any of them."
