Next time the Repulse might think twice about pitching to Declan Balgera. Today at Whammers Ballpark the Fort Wayne first baseman really burned San Bernardino pitching, going 5-for-6 in the Whammers 9-8 triumph.
"When he's seeing the ball well," his skipper told reporters, "he can probably stroke a base hit blindfolded."
In the 2025 season Balgera is batting .327 with 161 hits and 16 home runs. He has scored 77 times and batted in 84.

 | Sunday, August 17th, 2025: Great Stroke! Wright Gets 5 Hits!
Players get multi-hit games all the time. But a 5-hit game only comes around once in a blue moon. It happened at Whammers Ballpark when Shane Wright of Fort Wayne scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the Baton Rouge Dazzle.
He was down and a little subdued with mixed feelings in the postgame interview. "It was a good day for me, but not a good day for the Whammers. The bottom line in baseball is to win. We didn't do it today," he told the press after the game.
He walloped 5 hits in 7 at-bats in his career day performance, but it was the Dazzle, who won the ballgame 18-17.
However, the catcher of the Whammers did have this to say: "My swing was really, really there today. I made some good, solid contact and when that happens...good things happen. Sure, 5-7 and losing is better than going 0-5 and losing. I'll take 2-4 and a win and be overjoyed. I ain't greedy."
S. Wright hit an RBI single in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 8th, singled in the 9th and hit a two-run home run off P. Maldonado in the 11th.
This season Wright has banged out 135 hits in 424 at-bats for a .318 average with 5 home runs. He is getting on base at a .393 pace and his totals also include 79 RBIs and 74 runs scored.

| Thursday, July 24th, 2025: Meadows on Fire, 5-5 Against Aurora
It was a hits blitz for Dave Meadows at Whammers Ballpark. The Fort Wayne Whammers center fielder tore into Aurora for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace Whammers to a 13-9 victory and wrote his name into the baseball record book.
The manager for the Blue Bombers bemoaned his pitching, saying, "We fell behind and weren't locating well. Once you get behind in the count, you have to make real good pitches, rather than good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today." He added, "Not to take anything away from Meadows, but bad location was the story of the ballgame. That's why we lost the game."
D. Meadows singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit a three-run home run off M. Jones in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
This season Meadows has banged out 114 hits in 387 at-bats for a .295 average with 5 home runs. He is getting on base at a .372 pace and his totals also include 56 RBIs and 79 runs scored.
