Only a handful of players will do that. Get 5 hits in a game and you get your moment of glory...your 5 minutes of fame...you get your name in the record book.
In the Ghosts 8-4 win over Louisville, Claudio Pérez was red-hot today, scorching them for hit after hit at Ballpark of Glendale.
"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax. I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I must admit, I got too much adrenaline going when I realized that this was a special once-in-a-lifetime chance for the record book. On the last hit, I was ready to swing at anything close, I was that excited. That's why my third base coach called time and told me, 'Calm down and wait for a good pitch.' That got me back on track and I nailed the first one in the strike zone."
On his record-setting day Pérez delivered 5 hits in 5 at-bats, a day he will not soon forget.
C. Pérez doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a two-run single in the 7th.
Batting .263 to date, Pérez has 1 home run and 19 RBIs. | | Tuesday, July 22nd, 2025: Gordon Sensational, 5-6 Players get multi-hit games all the time. But a 5-hit game only comes around once in a blue moon. It happened at Louisville Grounds when Ken Gordon of Louisville scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the Warminster Heights Indians.
He walloped 5 hits in 6 at-bats in his career-day performance to help the Huns get by the Indians 9-8.
In a talkative and jovial mood after the game, the shortstop of the Huns exclaimed, "Whoa, my swing was really, really there today. I made some good, sweet-spot contact and when that happens...good things happen...like 5-6. I could get used to a lot of days like this one."
K. Gordon singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 8th, hit an RBI single in the 9th and singled in the 11th.
